Affiliate Disclosure

External links on this website may be affiliate links that could result in us receiving payment when you follow the link and purchase the product or service. Clicks are tracked by means of a code that is embedded in the affiliate link.

Affiliate links help us cover the costs of hosting this website and delivering great content for you to enjoy. You should assume that any external link on this website is an affiliate link. All efforts are made to ensure that affiliate links are disclosed in accordance with FTC regulations.

Basically, if you end up buying a product or service that you accessed via our link, we get a commission from the vendor as a small “thank you.”

Sometimes that commission is a few dollars or less; sometimes it’s a little more. Sometimes it’s a one-time commission; sometimes it’s a rolling commission — for example, if you sign up for a monthly subscription service we might get a slice of that monthly fee.

But the important thing to know is that the referral doesn’t cost you a penny. The entire commission comes out of the vendor’s pocket, not yours, and you pay the same price you would pay if you went straight to their website without following our link.

To be clear, we’ll never recommend a product simply because it pays us a commission. We only recommend products that we’ve personally used or that come highly recommended by trusted peers.

You always have the right to prevent us from earning a commission by going directly to the retailer mentioned, by searching for the product or service, rather than using the link we’ve provided.

The majority of the products or services we promote are ones we have paid for personally. My tools page has several examples of this.

Sometimes we may link to products we have used personally but not purchased, such as books, which may have been borrowed from the library.

We may also link to or promote products we haven’t purchased, if they also contain valuable free information that we have evaluated and consider valuable to our audience. Examples of this include webinars or “virtual summits”, during which related products may be offered for sale.

Sometimes we will promote a product we are not currently a paying customer for, but have been in the past.

We may occasionally engage in sponsored campaigns with various influencers or influencer networks, brands, and agencies. All sponsored content is disclosed in accordance with FTC requirements. These sponsored campaigns utilize tracking pixels, which may contain cookies to collect data. This information is collected by the sponsoring company to track the results of the campaign. Refer to our Privacy Policy regarding the collection and use of data.
